The Clear-i Green Mega Data Centre is the first Tier IV data centre in New Zealand. It is designed to the Uptime Institutes Tier IV standards and will also be compliant to NABERSNZ, and TIA-914 standards.

SITE

Designed as a primary site to support corporate and enterprise customers; all levels of government and global technology giants.
Easily accessible from Auckland by road and air (Auckland Airport, Whangarei Airport).

LOCATION

Located approximately 100 km from Auckland, 30 km from Whangarei. The site is unique as it offers true business continuity protection due to its geographic location in the Northland, which is a low risk earthquake and tsunami area.

With diverse fibre feed paths from multiple carriers the site is not reliant on any one major carrier for continuous connectivity, providing a very high level of connectivity resilience. This site is also an ideal carrier point of presence and distribution hub for servicing the Northland and the rest of New Zealand.

GREEN

The Data Centre will utilize renewable and green power from the grid.

COMMENCEMENT

Construction of the Clear-i data centre will commence in Q3 2020 with completion, testing and commissioning of Phase 1 to be completed by 2023.

COMPONENTS

The Clear-I Data Centre will comprise 4 separate data storage bunkers, each with independent mechanical and electrical infrastructure. All 4 bunkers will be controlled via a separate fully staffed 24/7, Network Operations Centre (NOC).

The 100-hectare master plan includes a large scale, dedicated low cost storage and archiving facility for corporate and government customers.

Early adopters have the opportunity to customize and design their data building to suit their business needs, with multiple tier levels and tailored security requirements.

All components of the Clear-i data centre design are optimised for the local climatic conditions which are ideal for utilising free cooling capability providing excellent operating efficiency and world leading lowest PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) of 1.06.
